What I bring to the table
Who I am
I am a Business Intelligence Developer with a difference.
I spent my childhood and adolescence obsessed with technology of all kinds, anything from making metal detectors in VHS cases to setting up my own Linux server for my home network.
During a varied career before deciding to focus on Business Intelligence I worked at all levels within many organisations. This gave me the experience and knowledge necessary to understand the differing needs from different areas of the business and how best to serve them.
I believe strongly that the Business Intelligence Developer role is 50% technical skill and 50% ability to engage with the stakeholder, accurately capture their requirements and where appropriate challenge them to improve mutual understanding before develop a solution which is easy to use, easy to learn and fits in with their existing procedures. This means the best technical solution is not always the right solution to deploy.
